2016 was nothing short of a dumpster fire. I still catch myself off guard when I hear the words 'president elect Donald Trump.' But Mr. Twitter Fingers isn't going to shit on everything I hold near and dear if I don't let him. OK, now I'm just trying too hard. I wanted to document some of the things I did in 2016 in a post, so here it is.

This year, I

Laughed. Cried. Grieved. Graduated college and looked for, and eventually found, my first job. Lived with three of my best friends; then moved back into my parent's house. Took a graphic design class and a (pseudo) coding class. Wrote "winter storm Jonas sucks ass" on the whiteboard on our apartment's refrigerator. It's still there (!!). Watched good TV, consumed good comedy, listened to good music. Spent too much time on the steps in SIS and waiting in line at the Dav. Went to an opera at the Kennedy Center and wrote a relatively coherent review of it. Saw Oh, Hello on Broadway and Career Suicide. Also saw Dev Patel and Trevor Noah at the 92nd Street Y. Went to DCM and waited three hours in line for a show that was 1000% worth it. Talked to Jason Mantzoukas for a hot sec. (Finally) took an improv class. Saw Mike Birbiglia and Throwing Shade live. Went to a Swet Shop Boys concert. Went to a taping of Late Night with Seth Meyers. Spent too much money on fancy coffee, Cava, Chef Geoff's, ubers, etc. Went to LA, Budapest, Prague, and Greece. Met and became friends with new people; and formed new relationships with people I already knew. Got two new piercings. Got bangs. Voted for a woman in the presidential election. Started reading more. Turned 23. Felt immensely thankful for the friendships I made in college. Learned to say yes more but also realized that it's okay to say no sometimes too.
